The FDA has released traceability guidelines that brings fantastic news for both businesses and consumers in the seafood industry. With compliance deadlines varying based on business size, it’s important to note that these guidelines are now in effect.

On 17 May the ECO Magazine in partnership with the IOC-UNESCO released a special issue on the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021 – 2030 (Ocean Decade).

Last month we hosted a small (in light of Covid restrictions) sampling session for key figures from Dubai’s F&B industry to try some of Scotland’s finest seafood shipped direct from the crisp, clean Scottish waters, and demo our traceability technology that gives a way for restaurant customers to discover the journey of the fish on their plate.

Seafood Souq was co-founded by Sean Dennis and Sheikh Fahim al Qasimi based on their mutual love for the ocean and belief in the fact that there had to be a better and more sustainable way forward for the seafood industry leveraging the use of technology. Last week we officially launched the latest version of the Seafood Souq platform. We’re thrilled to have now scaled our platform to serve more customer segments in the F&B industry providing them with a tool to simplify procurement and source worldwide seafood products direct from the producer. Our new iteration of the platform is a complete suite of services and solutions for the seafood industry covering the value chain from harvest to table.
